Overview

Take a 2 hour, 30 minute cruise down the great Mississippi River aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen. Enjoy a narrated tour with a licensed historian describing 300-years of New Orleans history; from the founding of the city by the LeMoyne Brothers to the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. During your cruise the vessel will dock at Chalmette Battlefield for a 1-hour excursion. Enjoy a guided tour and talk by a National Park Ranger about the battle of New Orleans, while taking in the sweet breeze and delicate waves along the river. Delight in a cash bar and/or a satisfying Creole lunch option available on the boat while viewing the famous French Quarter and Port of New Orleans from the river .

The narrative was outstanding. Comfortable area seating. Stayed on board at Chalmette and thoroughly enjoyed the music and bar.

Charles was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and gave us a detailed description of what happened to New Orleans during and after Katrina hit. An excellent historian. The paddle boat was awesome and very comfortable. I would recommend this activity to everyone who enjoys boat riding and learning a bit of history of the are of New Orleans. Please beware that parking along the water front is very expensive, so check out the city too, if you have the time to do so! .

The cruise was definitely a highlight of our trip to NOLA! The staff was friendly and accommodating and Charles was a wonderfully informative and engaging guide, providing lots of interesting information about the Mississippi and surrounding area. The narration re: hurricane Katrina was a bit heavy, but then so was the event. Would definitely recommend this excursion.

We went on the 2 pm cruise I didn’t really think about it at the time because it was overcast but my husband and I both came home sun burned. Make sure to wear sunscreen. The tour guide Charles was fantastic. He had everyone even the children captivated the whole. Definitely will go again.

We took the Sunday 12pm experience. Charles was fabulous! Very informative, funny and full of non-fictional stories. Even shared personal experiences of his families times in NOLA. Truly appreciated the dinner suggestion of Adolfo's local secret. Great meal experience to end our NOLA trip.

Enjoyed it, especially the narrator. One of few places in New Orleans not closed because of virus. I would recommend this trip.
